Geneva, July 2026 – ClearCLIMATE is one of the co-organisers of the session “AI and Virtual Worlds” (Session 285) at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS Forum 2026), taking place from 6 to 10 July 2026 in Geneva.
The panel, hosted by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, is scheduled for Tuesday, 7 July 2026, from 10:00 to 10:45 (UTC+2), in Room G1 of the ITU Varembé Building, with both on-site and remote participation available.
The session focuses on governance structures surrounding artificial intelligence and virtual worlds, exploring regulatory frameworks across different jurisdictions, the unintended consequences of existing policies, and emerging tensions between data protection and AI development.
The panel will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Paola Cecchi-Dimeglio of Harvard University, Co-Chair of the UN ITU Steering Committee on AI and Big Data. Among the panellists is Pilar Orero from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, who is involved in several EU-funded research projects including ClearCLIMATE.
