GDA International Conference 2025 took place on September 8–9 at SWPS University in Warsaw, Poland. GDA 2025 focused on building a sustainable and inclusive digital future, where accessibility meets environmental responsibility. We welcomed 70+ participants from 18 countries, both in person and online. Members of the ClearClimate project also took part, sharing insights on innovative approaches to climate communication.

The first day took off with a welcome note from organizers, Prof. Krzysztof Krejtz (SWPS University, Poland) and Dr. Sarah Ann McDonaugh (UAB, Spain) and a keynote talk from Dr. Jovana Vurdelja (University of Belgrade, Serbia), entitled “Language as a Trojan Horse: Ecolinguistics in a Battle against Climate Babble – exploring language as a tool for driving environmental awareness”. Sessions focused on climate communication, inclusive design, and education for sustainability. A highlight was the “Eye Tracking & Inclusion” workshop — a hands-on look at how gaze data can help improve digital accessibility and engagement with climate information.

The second day of the conference started with a keynote address by Mr.  Yngvar C. Anda Nordberg and Mr. Daniel Bajer (TV2 Scole, Norway). The talk “A Norwegian Take on Access for All: One Size Fits One Through Preferences” showcased the real use of accessibility features in a Norwegian learning platform. The sessions explored digital environments, AI’s environmental cost, and neurodiversity-friendly interfaces, as well as the ethical and policy challenges of sustainable tech. The “Green Education & Thinking Skills” workshop provided creative, practical ways to bring ecological thinking into digital learning spaces.

The conference closed with an open discussion on how to measure progress and ensure no one is left behind as we move toward greener, more inclusive technologies. We are leaving GDA 2025 with new ideas, valuable collaborations, and renewed motivation to keep pushing for accessible, sustainable digital futures.
